Fillers

Fillers Q & A

What are fillers?

Fillers are cosmetic injections that add volume under your skin to smooth out wrinkles or soften features. Physicians Weight Loss Clinic uses the Juvéderm® collection of fillers to give you a younger, fresher look.

As you get older, your skin loses some of its subcutaneous fat, which allows the muscles to work closer to the skin and creates wrinkles. Fillers act like a replacement fat to help smooth out those fine lines.

What imperfections can fillers fix?

Physicians Weight Loss Clinic uses Juvéderm fillers to fix a number of facial imperfections. Some of the most common include:

  • Sunken cheeks
  • Vertical lines
  • Smile or marionette lines

Your aesthetic specialist at Physicians Weight Loss Clinic can also use fillers to sculpt and contour your face, giving you a naturally beautiful look.

What can I expect during treatment with fillers?

The aesthetic specialists at Physicians Weight Loss Clinic have years of experience injecting fillers and can provide treatment quickly and effectively. Your aesthetic specialist begins by studying the affected area and deciding where to place the injections. A topical anesthetic is applied to reduce discomfort and then the fillers are injected into your skin.

After treatment, you may experience some redness and swelling at the injection sites, which can be treated with an ice pack. There’s no downtime following treatment, and you can go right back to your daily activities. However, your aesthetic specialist may recommend you avoid strenuous exercise for a day or two after you leave the office.

You should be able to notice the effects of the treatment immediately. You might look plumper than you initially anticipated, but the filler will settle and even out your look.

How long do fillers last?

If you maintain positive skincare habits, your fillers should keep you looking young and vibrant for up to a year. Your aesthetic specialist provides you with home care instructions so you know how best to maintain your look. You should wear sunblock daily and cover up with a hat and sunglasses if you’re going to be in the sun for an extended period of time.
